Muslims who are enlightened human beings may, under the intoxicating influence of their religious faith that blinds their reason, mistakenly posit the Koran as the source of their illumination but it surely is not the case. Were these human beings fortunate enough to have their minds liberated from the curse of religion, they would find even higher levels of enlightment, inspired from other, more noble sources - the arts, literature, science, for example, and they would contribute much more to human culture and knowledge.
Sure, if one looks hard enough one can find some kind words and peaceful phrases in the Koran, and then babble some nonsense about a "religion of peace". But the undeniable fact is that by any objective standard, when taken literally, the Koran and its contents constitute one of the most vicious, hate-filled, bloodthristy, inciteful and morally despicable works ever concocted by a sick, twisted human mind. Just pick up the damn thing and read a few pages. On almost every page of this vile text, this Arabian version of Mein Kampf, are exhortations to the muslim faithful to wage war, conquer, slaughter, forcibly convert;etc. the evil non-muslim infidels.
Although it may be very PC to do so, we simply can't afford to bury our heads in the sand and ignore the basic tenets of Islam, as given by the Koran and the hadith. For if the Koran is taken literally, and many Muslims seem to insist that it must be, true Islam cannot exist without fervently and ceaselessly striving to forcibly convert the entire world to Islam, or completely destroying any and all who resist.
