Have you lived among Muslims, or have you lived in Western enclaves with little social contact? Have you lived with Arabs? With Indonesians? With sub-Saharan Africans? With Afghanis? Have you taken the indigenous culture into account when making your assessment of Islam's effects?
The 7th Century was not a highwater mark for women's rights anywhere in the world. Muhammed has been quoted as saying that a man may take as many as four wives if he can afford to provide for them, but that if he could only provide well for one wife, he must limit himself to one wife. This was during a period and in a region where men collected women the way my grandmother collected charms for her bracelet, and disposed of women carelessly. So yes, it actually was a case of Muhammed urging moderation.
Religious historians agree that it's impossible for a powermonger and a fraud to have convinced his contemporaries of his goodness and generosity so much so that his reputation (except for the Christian demonization of subsequent centuries, done for political and religious purposes) remains revered based on their testimony. Even his enemies in Mecca came to venerate him for the mercy he showed there after its conquest by his army.
You hate Islam. This much is obvious by your statements. If you wish to justify your hatred by invoking your experiences, provide more detail, please.
