my own memory of it (it's quite a while ago now) is that simply, you were given as good as you gave - no more, no less. A well-matched fight actually, with ring seats for all. Maybe 'unpleasant' to anyone resenting a tough and stubborn challenge to their own dominant tendencies.

Or, maybe, just unpleasant to a kind heart because of the emotional drainage involved. Hopefully, that's you.
