I really don't want to see you blow your other foot off, too.
By the way, alcoholism is an illness, similar to diabetes and many others. The predisposition is inherited. I got it. I'm an alcoholic. That be me. To the core.
Now, usually we don't judge people by the problems they have, or inherited qualities, but by how they handle those problems. For instance, it usually isn't the act that gets politicians in trouble, it's the cover-up.
I went to treatment and haven't had alcohol or unprescribed drugs for over 28 years. That's how I handled it.
And, frankly, no pun intended, I'm kinda proud of being a recovering alcoholic. The fact that some people, very, very few, try to use that as an insult, well, I'm proud of that, too. Wouldn't want that kind of folk to respect me. Says a lot about their prejudices, their attitudes, their character, don't you think.
But please. MERCY. Stop doing this to yourself. Really. You probably aren't a bad guy most of the time.
Arf (Bow, you didn't have to say that. I feel sorry for him, and it's true.)
