Raoul: Why does the US need to create enemies? It's amazing how demonizing is easy and effective in the US...No place to understand why such and such group hates the US?
Lindy: You ought to hold your conservative leaders accountable for leading us into foreign wars of oppression and for creating enemies worldwide by stealing their resources and destroying their economies.
Yeah. It's all America's fault. It's always been America's fault. I heard the same crap during the Cold War, too, when nobody even knew what Islamism was. First Law of the Left.
I could point out, and have many times, that we weren't in any "foreign wars of oppression" when 9/11 happened, and that the operation was planned in Afghanistan during a previous non-conservative administration in the U.S. Pointing these things out does no good. The ability to integrate data to form new conclusions shut down in some people a long time ago.
Israel, for its part, was attacked in a war of extermination within hours of the United Nations creating the borders in 1948. Every war since then has been started by its enemies, including the last one. But, again, rationality long ago left the building on this board.
Incidentally, Lindy, in case you haven't been paying attention to the palaces and private jets in the Middle East, we're paying for those resources. Cash.
Almost every sentence added to this thread so far is proving my point.
