I thought you were refering to the Shuttle's ability to return many 1000's of KG's.

I can't imagine any science that would require an entire rack to be returned, but at least one of the two COTS options uses the MPLM sized docking port and would thus offer rack sized return to Earth.

I'm really not sure what you're getting at. What is it that they might have to bring back intact that there is no planned capacity to do so?
