re: Apathy as usual

I don’t even know why I have become some passionate about this. I am not a New Yorker and I have never been to NYC, yet I feel the hole left after 9/11.

It started the other day when I saw the new plans for the Freedom Tower. It is much better than that awful thing they had proposed before, but it is still not right. It seemed to say, “We are afraid to build bigger. You won terrorist. We are afraid.” It seems to dwell on 9/11 and not move on.

The new buildings offered nothing. The hole felt was still there. What could fill that hole.

Then I saw this site. Yes, that is what needs to be done. It is a perfect balance. It remembers 9/11, preserves the history there, yet it fills the hole. It rebuilds what was lost and allows us to pick up where we left off after 9/11. It restores a symbol that represents America’s strength, and shows we are not afraid. It is brilliant. I commend these guys for their vision. And Donald Trump is all for it too. I hope they can pull it off. It is what need to be done to heal the 9/11 wound,

From what I have read and the polls I have seen 80% of all New Yorkers polled want to rebuild the Twin Towers. That percentage seems to reflect the rest of America as well.
