I didn’t like any of the Freedom tower designs. They all seem less of the original WTC, like we are cowering or afraid to hold our heads up high. Too much of the new proposals are dwelling on the past and not on the future. They seem stuck on 9/11 and are unwilling to move past the tragic event. Rebuilding the Towers would show we have moved past 9/11.
The Twin Towers were a symbol everyone recognized. They need to rebuild that symbol.
I like this plan of rebuilding the Twin Towers next to the old footprints, with parts of the original buildings erected as they once stood. It is a good balance between remembering the past and looking forward to the future.
