Alcaray, Tom, Tech and the rest of you, no amount of blogblather will change the hard facts, a 57 year old man made a pass at one, or more 16 -17 year old boys. This is the core of the matter, everything else is spin, political gamesmanship or window dressing.
Look I don’t give a fats rats patootie who spilled the beans, I do care if it was hidden for any length of time. As far as I am concerned anyone who hid or ignored the facts is just as damned guilty as he is! Don’t care which party, if they knew the full story, they should have come forward immediately.
We went past politics when a 50 something man started propositioning 16 YO boys.
Period, end of discussion, no excuses.
Had he been a citizen out of the public eye he’d be under the effing Jail! Right! By! God! Now!, where he belongs.
We’re past Partisan bickering, we’re past Party Loyalties, we’re past the constant Power Struggle inside the Beltway.
This man was in charge of the Congressional Committee that was formed to prevent this very damned thing!
They can spin this until the rim velocity exceeds the speed of sound and it won’t change the facts that Foley made sexual comments to those children Americans entrusted to Congress.
It is not the first episode of inappropriate behavior with pages, hopefully it will be the last.
But somehow I doubt it.
