The same old lies covering up the same old mess. Rumsfeld said, for instance, he does not do "quagmires", and there isn't a rational soul on Earth who doesn't agree Iraq is a quagmire.
The fact that they can muzzle the politically appointed generals while on active duty cannot be used as implied consent.
Rumsfeld told the military that Iraq had WMDs and he knew where they were. They didn't and he didn't. Had 'em fighting a war for no stated rational goal.
Etc.
Read the "rebuttal", and say it's a "rebuttal". It is only cover for those who need only the thinnest thread from which to hang in the face of irrefutable evidence to the contrary.
The fact those magazines printed what they did cannot be brushed off just as wrong. They believe it for a reason. Their readership must agree to a large extent. A pure denial does everyone a grave disservice.
