Oliver North believed he was doing the Right thing as well, funneling money to the Contras and being a big weapons and arms dealer because he "could", under national secuity for fighting those dirty communists. Idealism. Had LOTS of people to help him, and help cover up for him, even though Congress made it illegal.
>"A. Oust Saddam
B. Secure the oil fields
C. Set up a base. "
A) Since when do we do have the legal right to oust leaders of their own country? (Oh wait, the CIA has been doing it for decades IF these countries own the rights to a product we WANT and maybe...need=$$$$)
B) Don't pay for it, just TAKE IT.
C) We didn't NEED a base there at tax payer's expense. We have them over there, plus the help of many allies (Saudi Arabia, Turkey, etc...) We have jet fighters, bombers and many of the best INTEL agents, your reasoning is faulty. Even Richard Perle says it was wrong now and he was one of the architects of this debacle.
