First of all, reread my post. I didn't say anything about surrendering because it's my contention that we won the war. To cease an occupation isn't about winning or losing. It's simply being realistic about unreachable goals, weighing options and acting upon them. The Iraqi bloodshed and chaos is here and it's not going away despite any actions from us. It doesn't matter if we stay or go. Our leaving merely allows the evolution to occur on its own and it stops the hatred that's building in the rest of the world for our bullying foreign policy. Also, I've never advocated leaving Afghanistan any time soon.
Why don't you face up to it Tom and admit what this is all about with you. You're scared to death of anything you don't understand and somehow feel that force and violence is a way of fending off your impending doom. It's this cornered animal syndrome and it reeks of absolute paranoia.
Living under Muslim rule? Get a grip Tom. That's gotta be the most absurd thing I've ever heard out of a supposedly intelligent being and it's downright insulting if you're in any way insinuating that it'd be something I'd accept or look forward to. I don't want to live under any religious rule by Muslims, Mormons, Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses, or any system that advocates politics and human interaction based on faith and not logic. You betray your true concerns and motivations when you pick out just one of the absurd religions of the world and ignore the horrific abuses of any theocracy.
Oh, and about not having any daughters. I assume that means your fears are about your own. Perhaps if they're so threatened by Islamic rule, you should ensure that you put a rifle into their hands and take them down to the military recruiting office so they can help defeat this coming scourge.
