--Most of the misery in this world has been caused by those who figured they had a right to tell a million other people how to live. There are specific philosophies associated with this.

--We have seen one of these philosophies in action. Every society in the past century which has murdered hundreds of thousands of its own people in order to remake society in its own image has called itself socialist.

--We are seeing another such philosophy facing us now. Different rationales, but the same thing at bottom. "All who are not part of us must be destroyed." I am honestly puzzled that people who are seeking atomic weapons and are currently willing to wrap bombs around their own children to destroy their enemies aren't of more concern.

But I've gone into the psychology of this elsewhere. No need to do it again. Some enemies are safer than others.
