sure, two very closely-spaced capacitance plates will experience this Casimir effect and be drawn together.
if you lock them rigid, they experience the force, but don't move.
Newtonian Mechanics prescribes that "work done" = force times distance.
So you only generate energy when you let the plates clash together. If they stay static, you earn nothing. if you pull them apart, it COSTS energy.
So there is no way to generate anything other than transient local micro-energy from the Casimir effect, as I see it.
And probably, all the energy you get out by letting the plates clash was already put in through smoothing the plates and dealing with interatomic forces of atoms you stripped-off to make the plates smoothe enough for the effect to work, anyway...

- It's a stretch,
- Do the electrons of an Atom truly “circle†the atom’s nucleus? If so, aren’t they then in perpetual motion?
- Not really
- re: note that if true, we could then define Energy, Mass, and gravity all in one equation!
- The formula would look something like:
- Do the electrons of an Atom truly “circle†the atom’s nucleus? If so, aren’t they then in perpetual motion?
- I doubt gravity is in any way electrical.
- Gravity
- I think gravity is to weak a force to be THE force that holds or creates or "makes rigid" matter from energy.

- Not in the sense that most people think of electricity
