Well, I can say that I regret that I didn't lose more arguments.
I don't have much sympathy for this idea of "feel [ing] that you were defeated by better facts and better logic"
I'm not sure I even know what that means. Now if you replace "overjoyed" with "defeated" it would make more sense.
Don't people in general want "better facts" and "better logic", or is there some strange deep desire to be stupid?
I'm sort of kidding.
Because I do understand the feeling of defeat from an argument, but if you feel defeat as result of argument you should keep in mind that your approach/basis of your argument wasn't based on facts and logic, but rather is based on emotional attraction to an idea [no doubt that is cold comfort].
There isn't really such thing as "better facts" and "better logic"- there are facts and logic.
{I do grant that it's likely that "better facts" and "better logic" may feel better or be a nicer way of saying it- so therefore I'm cold, dull, plain, and/or EVIL. Hmm, let's see if I can remedy this. If I wasn't so cold, I would tell of my cryogenic heart cold forged by giants who chewed ice or that I was beaten constantly as a child with bags of ice. Or other uncontrollable circumstances that forced me to be the way I am. That of course would be silly, but I have no choice.}
Or you could feel defeat if someone "wins the argument" by beating you with baseball bat, or something equivalent.
