Then why was significant effort made to deny that such a process had taken place, at any level, and why did it take congressional pressure and legal action to ectract the basic facts? IE: why obfuscate, deny and mislead (recall, you can never call anything this administration does a 'lie') if you have nothing to hide? Furthermore, why start firing people if they did nothing wrong?
