True, but not as documented as for Lam

True re Cummins, but so far in that case its mostly inference.

In Lam's case, it's 100% clear from their own documents that she was at the top of the list for DoJ/White House, and the remarks about "special problems" and such, timing of concerns being linked to developments in her GOP corruption cases as opposed any obvious or stated immigration concern, etc. that seem really damning.

There's another exchange where Sampson wonders if anyone has "woodshedded" her on immigration -- "anyone? anyone?" he asks. While that could reflect concerns over immigration, could also be a CYA -- is the immigration concern plausible. Given the letter to Feinstein saying Lam was doing fine on immigration, that seems fishy. Connected to thatexcahnge is another email where Sampson wonders about some logistical details of possibly sending extra prosecutors to the S.D. district to deal with immigration cases, the "premise" -- his word, not mine -- the "premise" being that AG AG ordered more attention to immigration cases in that district.

Conclusive, no, but from my own quick scan of the documents in Lam's case is NOT just a suspicious correlation -- the docs show plenty of grounds for digging deeper.
