re: Naval warfare bulletin

A very low, fast missile is a natural. The French Exocet is 30 years old, and has a great track record as an offensive weapon. I'm sure an Aegis, if not an aircraft carrier, could counter it relatively easily, now.

It makes sense that newer versions along the same idea could have and would have been developed.

And in a way an aircraft carrier in those narrow seas is a floating WTC. Seems like a high-value target, both realistically and symbolically. I'm surprised it hasn't been strewn with difficult to detect and passive torpedos waiting to be armed. A few of those launched vertically would be hard to counter.
