Adversary implies we have different goals. You think you are my adversary at this time, but I am not your adversary. We both want what's best for folks all over and think as our worldview evolves. We both see the world through different arrangement of those polarized lenses you mention in another post.
In a swift turn of the lens suddenly whole new vistas are either visible or blotted out. And to be honest, communists are people too, and have evolved their position out of their environment and worldview.
My circle of friends has included many hard-left folks who were convinced the conspiracies were all on the right. Others see the conspiracies on the left. The truth is relative and humans are prone to seek their own best interests, first and then some, the enlightened ones, actually seek what's best for others as well. How they go about doing that, and what they believe is the "best interest" is where it gets interesting.
