I got burned by AOL early on. They kept billing, and the web site which was supposed to handle it didn't. The people I finally got through to said they'd handle it and didn't.

I finally had to threaten to take them to the local Small Claims Court in order to get it handled. Took months and many hours.

Face it. When someone is devoting 100% of their time to fleecing others, and others are devoting 1% of their time to avoid being fleeced, the odds are in their favor.
