I have never claimed that all businesses are good.
I have stated that there are a lot more good ones than bad ones. They just don't end up in the newspapers. You buy their stuff without ever thinking twice about the company that creates it, because it's good stuff.
Here's a worst case analysis. A leftist anti-capitalist group lists the top 100 corporations in 2002, and why they should be on your shitlist.
We'll leave the accuracy of some of their analyses out of this for the time being.
There's a few stinkers on there, for sure, but as you go down the list, you notice an awful lot of blank spots, and some where you sense they're reaching a bit. For example, I don't think making large cars makes you a criminal. Just not too bright.
Enron is gone now, isn't it? And how are Ford and GM doing in the free marketplace?
For the most part, the system works. So far, I haven't seen anyone come up with anything better.
