Well, skill wasn't on your original list. Just "work hard, use their intelligence or get lucky". And if they were that unskilled, you wouldn't have to go all the way to Mexico to hire them, would you?. There's plenty of unskilled people right here in this country. Oh, what's that you say? "No one here wants to do that kind of work." Maybe its because you won't pay 'em what they want. But the Mexicans are desperate, aren't they? So you hire them illegally because they're desperate for the work. Bingo! We've added another "requirement" for your freedom: desperation. Then you complain about their illegality so they will have to put up with your low wages and brutal work or risk losing their family's income. So you need them desperate, scared, illegal, and unskilled---but have you ever tried picking fruit in the hot sun, especially if you're a middle-aged man, or a woman? Even if you did that kind of work all your life in Mexico it still ain't easy, and it still requires some form of skill to be able to pick crops fast enough to make any money at it, and the seasons are short.
It doesn't matter how hard these people work, the vast bulk of them will never get anywhere. Maybe, just maybe, their children will make it, if they're born in this country. But if you're an American farmer, or an American consumer, you make out like a bandit. That doesn't sound like freedom to me. It sounds like slavery.
