Kinda off topic, but

Several months ago I saw a show on the History Channel about the Mars candy company. The business is family owned, it's private not public. The building they use in Chicago has been in use by them since the 1920s. Last year they sold 2 Billion Snickers bars. They also make Milkyway, Three Musketeers, M&Ms, and other candy.

This company literally makes many BILLIONS of dollars a year and is owned by a handful of people. They employ maybe a 100 people at their main plant in Chicago. Their employees are very well paid and treated almost like family. Unlike most public corporations, they are not looking to shave every fraction of a cent off business cost. The owners have more money than they can count and aren't accountable to parasitic shareholders demanding the company constantly increase profit margins at all costs.

It was a very impressive show, and goes to show why working for a private company is far and away better than working for a public corporation.
