I understand Donald's frustration with this man. He did however make it perfectly clear that the comparison was merely that neo-cons pushing for needless war to continue, contribute to the murder and killing of countless more humans than any conventional mass murderer ever could. I thought he was rather kind.
As far as taking it to Flame, I wholeheartedly agree that's where these name-calling feasts should be but, let's look at who begins the attacks and how successful one is if they feel the rebuttal ought to not take place here in CE. Tom continually provokes beyond that of accepted debate rules here in this forum and somehow his eloquence or his reputation for extensive research give him some kind of immunity to take potshots at others with his initial post. When you do get fed up and take the issue to flame he doesn't jump into your new post with both feet and confront the issue. He instead pussyfoots around it and remains in his original CE area.
New posts in current events should be exactly what the title implies, someone finds a news item and sets it out for others to review. One would hope that the poster would try to find balanced items but that might be too much to ask for. Now, if the discussion of the original post devolves into partisan sniping, so be it and the thread should be able to take on a life of its own including branching off to another appropriate forum. However, I think Tom clearly violates the intent as I see it and intentionally pushes the limits of decency knowing others on here tend more to try to keep CE hospitable.
So don't expect a double standard on here. If we're to allow the provoking to go unchallenged, then so should the fight back. I'd prefer the knockdown dragout bloodfests be in Flame but Tom's conveniently hiding in here like any typical psycopathic nutcase would.
