Leftists here are a bit like Barney the dinosaur. Their beliefs are paraded around somewhat comicly, and the person underneath the suit doesn't really believe the words they parrot anyway. They espouse "noble" platitudes for personal gain and like the guy who plays Barney, tell themselves they are better than other people because of their chosen charade. Bottom line is they are, in real life, often very "unpleasant" people. Bulletin boards all over the web are filled with "unpleasant" Barneys.
