Lesson learned

We all have defining moments in our lives. Sometimes we don't realize it until much, MUCH later. I have had a lot of defining moments that made me realize "What NOT to do"

When I was in the 9th grade..I was in Drama Club. I was selling tickets to our play. I had the money in my purse in an envelope, ready to turn in after gym class. The money was stolen (we did not have locks on our lockers.) I set a trap the next gym day to see if I could catch the person. I left a dollar bill showing in my purse, and I would watch to see who went in the locker room, and when my dollar went missing. That was too easy!...Her name was Christine, and I had basically caught her red handed. I told my principal....His reaction?....."I stole when I was young...we all do something we shouldn't"

MY REACTION? (besides dis-belief at what I was hearing)...I wrote a scathing note to Christine and left it on her study hall desk when she left for the library. I did not sign my name, but I told her that I knew it was her. When she got back from the library, I watched as she read it...she never did that to me again...did she learn her lesson?...Probably not. I sure as hell did, though.
