okay...let me back up.
Age 7 years old. Something happened to me by a close relative. I told my mother. She screamed at me for all she is worth...and made me go upstairs to "wait until my father got home"
"HOW COULD I TELL SUCH LIES???" was her shrill condemnation.
THAT was a defining moment in my life also....which was "keep your mouth shut, asshole"
...and I believe it is a gender thing, too. I was raised to be a good girl...to be seen, and not heard.....be polite and always agree.
I have spent my lifetime un-learning some of my defining moments.
