re: Extreme bullshit

I almost titled this “Cheap Shot”

But I didn’t . Even though you attacked me personally.

One, I’m not ‘jealous’ of Mr Moore’s success. No matter how he got there, he got there. No skin of my nose, or money out of my pocket. No way I'd pay to watch any of it. Yeah I've seen a few of his flicks, on disc, which someone else bought.

Hell even Jerry Springer is successful and filthy rich.

And, I agree about the mess in Iraq. Whether you believe it or not, don’t give a damn either way.

Over time I’ve seen Moore in a number of programs. And he strikes me as an arrogant prick, which is exactly what I said. He slants his work to the left, that’s Ok, his right to do it any way he wants.

But, and this is important, pay close attention.

Make notes if you need too.

So are any number of those who purport to represent those of us with a more traditional conservative ideology.

Note the use of Traditional. Conservative. We’re the forgotten, the ignored, our party was overrun by fundies and hard core theologists. Now we’ve no place to go, and we’re pissed.

Moore and his Rightist counterparts spend a great deal of time pounding the table and screaming at each other, and us. To what end? How is the vociferous yapping between extremists helping the middle? The country as a whole? What happened to telling it like it really is and shutting the hell up.

As for debating Mr Moore, not interested, no doubt the man is intelligent, and has a fine education to base his arguments on. He makes politically motivated quasi-documentaries with very carefully chosen clips, cuts and sound bites to make his point. But he’s not the only one, so do any number of hacks on the right side.

Don’t give a damn, unless he can help me finish the rush job at work tomorrow, we can talk then. But he’d better know how to use tools, I don’t have time to teach him, And I can almost guarantee you my opinion of him would be the same when we hit the time clock.

One point I will make, if the man spoke to me in person in the same manner as I’ve seen him speak to others, well he’d better have good health care.

He’d need it.

See, I’m one of the millions of people in this country who has to work for a living, my hands get dirty, I have busted knuckles, I sweat, and I by-God earn my wages.

Mr Moore and his kind, left or right, don’t know us. Even if they grew up in a working family they seem to have forgotten what it’s really like. And every two weeks, when that check lands in my hands, about 20-28%* of it floats off to be never seen again. Taxes.

And, I’m acutely aware that when a major medical conditions befalls me, I’m going to be financially ruined ... or dead because I can’t afford treatment. Even with insurance. Folks in my social/financial strata usually go the same way when serious medical problems arise. We suffer a while and die. Some will say that’s not true, but it is. I watch it play out constantly.

But you want to hand control of the Health Care system to the f*******g Government?

I’m all too well aware of the frightening truth to that old saw about disaster. When the guy in the cheap suit shows up and tells you “I’m from the Government and I’m here to help”. Nothing can screw up anything worse than Bureaucracy, and handing over health care to the Government is a recipe for disaster for all of us.. Ask any Katrina survivor, or any other disaster for that matter.

I stated my opinion of Moore, and I’m sticking to it until I see something to change my mind. If you’re going to insult me, please read my comments more carefully. My comments began with my low opinion of both Moore and Blitzer, and the rest of their ilk.

As for the rest, ... whatever

*Yeah, I’m including Social Security. Because I’m one of the ‘idiots’ who believe I’ll never see it.
