re: Michael Moore rips Wolf Blitzer a new one

Moore's a pit bull if you diss him. It's not a wise move unless you've really done your research and from what I can tell his detractors rarely do. I heard all kinds of condemnation of his Fahrenheit 911 movie and ranting about his distortion of facts and really I found only one that turned out to go a different way. That was the pipeline deal he highlighted in Afghanistan. He certainly had compelling evidence though to believe it to be a vital lead.

The one I always laugh at is the kids flying kites in Iraq prior to our invasion. The bozos act as if he staged the event and completely dismiss the fact that there were certainly large pockets of normalcy in that country before we got there. Knowing Moore, he (or his crew) stumbled across actual kids flying kites and used the shot for irony. I viewed that footage and never took it as anything else knowing his propensity for comic interludes to break the tension and set up a point.

What the detractors always failed to address were the long sequences where the only thing on the screen was real and undoctored footage of our leaders making complete and utter asses of themselves. Often there was not even any narration during those sequences. It wasn't necessary.

You know I saw Michael Moore in person here in Phoenix and was absolutely impressed with his ability to improvise and to work a crowd. The guy could easily be a stand-up comedian and yet chose to become politically active and make the world a better place. Never have I seen the man shill for the Democratic party. Every time I've ever seen him interviewed or on stage he's made a point to aim fingers at all who manipulate the truth or seek power at the expense of others.

I haven't yet watched the video but will when I get home tonight but I know exactly what to expect. Moore's job is always easy with people challenging him because his documentaries are based on truth.
