How do you know we aren't? Art's wife is a teacher, from what I recall, and deals with children. And secretly, I am the liberal arts director of the conservative conservatory, a private school. ;-) I work all day long with troubled youths and we indoctrinate - make that teach them certain conservative values.
Seriously, HSMII is swell and fine. I'd rather have preteens watching that then watching a lot of the degenerate stuff you might find on youtube, which include profanity laced parodies, just general vulgar content or even stupid and dangerous things like kids and braindead folks teaching kids to make bottle bombs.
I have no problem with HSMII, Gene Kelly, WSS or EMO, or anything else.
In today's more transparent sexual culture, children are being exposed to stuff most older generations only had to deal with when they were in junior high or high school. Now everyone is 'gay' or a '-ag' and it's almost an automatic curse word and general insult. TV, movies and popular culture can be blamed along with the general youth culture that is making the 9 year old of today the 12 year old of two decades ago.
And goodness help the young kids whose parents don't filter/monitor their internet access - one can only imagine what permanent damage some images and internet content can do to a preteen.
So I say...bring on more HSM type fare. It can only help balance the dark stuff kids are exposed to way too early.
PS
It's nice to see you posting MA...maybe we need more topics that involve middle-schoolers. ;-)
