Compared to the rest of the Royals, Diana was a loving, affectionate mother. She obviously spent some quality time with her sons. By contrast, Queen Elizabeth was raised by parents who were neither affectionate nor attentive. Charles was also raised that way. Say what you will, she loved those boys, and was saddled with a cold, unloving husband whose heart was elsewhere and had been before they were married. He married Diana to provide heirs and have a wife who could be Queen. Had he been affectionate and attentive, a bit understanding, their marriage might even have worked. But he wasn't and Diana was young. I wouldn't judge her too harshly. Unless you've walked in her shoes, you can't know what demons stalked her.
Well, yes you can, actually. They are called paparazzi, minions of Satan.
