Considering the history of British royalty, William and Harry are the sanest of them around, with the possible exception of their grandmother. One has to remember that they have a powerful and well-funded PR organization which can and does exaggerate and suppress pretty well.
The rational ruler among European royalty certainly exists, but they are the exception rather than the rule. A history of British royalty reads like the Conservative members of the US Congress, with buggery almost a right of passage. The fact that they have a strong naval history, with voyages often lasting 4, 6, 12 months or years seems to have influenced the culture.
And if Willy and Harry "go south", they will have come by it honestly.
