I think everyone knows what I'm talking about. Whether it be birth control, history's oldest profession or same sex relations - many of these fluorished due to the fact that the sex was without potential familial ramifications.

Religions, as cults, needed members and wanted their members to "go forth and be fruitful" and just like warring or insecure tribes a bountiful reproduction rate was very important. Crackdowns on prostitution have the result of increasing the birthrate.

In the late 1960s with the fear of the "population explosion" and predictions of an unsustainable world by 1984, many think-tanks were employed to come up with solutions for nations that did not enforce a birth control system. It was a super popular theme for research for well over fifteen years and many respected names and institutions proffered their solutions to the impending disaster.

Not surprisingly, prostitution, same-sex relations and even widespread p0rnography were heartily endorsed as means of reducing the birthrate. Nations like Denmark & Sweden were cited as examples of the effectiveness of these outlets for sexual gratification.

That the internet is primarily a p0rn-provider to the world is obvious by statistics - so few have bothered to ask why the governments permit it, or look the other way even if they prohibit it.

It is one of the solutions to the population explosion - and a way the West can indirectly interfere - and curtail the population explosion in the East.

Obviously not all initial or subsequent marital relations occur because of love or sharing. It would be a lot nicer world if they did though.
