My roots are working class, and I come from a working class community, and those are my cultural values too. But I recognize this and try to moderate it with reason and recognition that many of my convictions may arise from my upbringing and not my knowledge. I try not to demonize the entrepreneur, and I try to recognize his value to the society, but I also want to resist the temptation to put him on a pedestal and make excuses for him. Those are someone else's cultural values.
In my community and in my family there were entrepreneurs, but somehow they seemed different from the guy in the shop. They were more like the Asian guy, not the yuppie on the shop floor. That's what this thread set out to explore.
