And if you want a revolutionary parallel with Iraq we can look at the high numbers of foreign mercenaries in the colonies as we fought the British, most of whom were far more talented than their US counterparts.
The Hessians were the most skilled British forces - and they were Germans. Fusiliers, musketeers, hussars, etcetera and were about 25 percent of the British forces fighting the revolutionaries.
The revolutionaries had the French, Dutch, Spanish fighting for them as well as Prussian mercenaries. Had the French bailed out on us, the war would have been lost.
Bailing out on free Iraqis, just so a totalitarian-corporate stooge nationcan be set up would be an equal crime.
