Short of heating rocks with phasers....
I have a friend up there in NY who closes off all the rooms in his house except a bathroom, the kitchen, and the living room where the fireplace is. His heating bills a few years ago was reaching the $1,000.00/month range.
Cooling down here in Texas is a bitch. My cooling bill was in the $800.00 range last year during peak season. I bought more fans...raised the temperature on the thermostat....it is better this year, but it has also been a cooler than usual summer....alot of in the 90's instead of the 100s'..so my bill was cut in half.
What alternatives can you try to attempt? Or will you be reduced to the *Grin and Bear It* mode? (In Texas, it is the *Grin and BARE it* in the summer)
