$200/mo
is my summer electric bill, and about half that in winter (we need no heat to speak of in S Florida, although the old lady keeps the AC on pretty much year round. My old AC unit was pretty inefficient because of age, and $300/mo in summer was not uncommon. At this rate, it will take me about 4 years for the savings to pay off the new unit.
Homestead Exemption keeps my taxes pretty low, but where I get burned is hurricane insurance, about $200/month, even though my house has survived 40 storm seasons without a claim.
