I think the America conservative mind thinks it's a blessing that they live in America and that most of the world's people live with less liberty than America. They wouldn't accept that other countries manage on average to make better decisions than America, and that without America spending blood and treasure, the world would have less liberty than they currently "enjoy"- and in America we would have less.
They wouldn't look at China, and think that communism is the source of that country slowly improving in many ways, instead they would say that capitalism is being allowed to some extent to function in that country.
