Deep down you don't seriously believe in most of the stuff you profess, or your behavior patterns would change drastically.
With you, and I suspect, most others who like to talk about the paranormal and conspiracies, it's like people talking about their favorite TV series at the coffee machine. It's interesting, and the details are fascinating, but nobody goes home thinking there's really Klingons coming to take over the Earth.
Now that I think about it, a lot of political activism also falls into this category. It's fun, and in this particular country, marvelously safe and easy.
In Burma, and many other nations, activism and "fighting the power" carries a real price.
