I agreed with you - Thanksgiving is a lie. My views are the byproduct of all I have absorbed intellectualy and emotionally on the matter.
For nearly a century now kindergarten children have re-enacted a dinner that never really happened, but which captured school teachers "politically correct" notions about race relations. Now the teachers notions about what is "politically correct" have changed.
Why should we assume their judgment, education or instincts are any better?
Now we can hear lectures and read in textbooks what monsters the founding fathers were, we can burn the flag and refuse the Pledge of Allegiance, we can celebrate Cinco de Maya, African History Month, Gay & Lesbian History Month, and now we have eliminated celebrating Lincoln & Washington's birthdays separately but celebrate Cesar Chavez' birthday. Kids are taught all about Martin Luther King but know nearly nothing about Thomas Jefferson. They can't point to the US on a globe, but know that Wicca is an increasingly popular alternative religion.
As for Ann....she is just another demagogue earning her income by throwing incendiary bombs at the leftists sniffing their own "smug."
The resulting huge "smug" fireballs are at least entertaining.
"Are you still finishing up that post? Tell Rob to piss off already and hop here in the shower...I'm wet."
"Hang on just another minute..."
"Christ, just tell Rob that the next time I fly in to Seattle I'll personally stop by his house just to tell him he's feeble minded and that the Seattle school board members are a bunch of leftist p---ies who not surprisingly have no b--ls whatsoever after their self-castration rituals. Now get here in the shower with me!"
"Sorry Rob...gotta go..."
