re: You're cutting them a lot more slack than I would.
Our intention is not to put up additional barriers or develop an “us against them†mindset, nor is it to continue to hold onto unsuccessful concepts such as a melting pot or colorblind mentality
Since when was it declared that "melting pot" or a "colorblind mentality" were "unsuccessful concepts?"
Oh yeah...I remember...that was when it was realized that reverse racism or institutional reparations and faux guilt trips would not be accepted into the curriculum.
One can't divide and conquer until we can classify and subdivide students into little acronyms such as GLBTQ (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning.)
Having a child in the Seattle school district would be a living nightmare. Every night one would have to "deprogram" them. Eventually the teachers would realize the student's defiance (as well as the good grades that come with such conservative adult tutoring) and would proceed in making their life miserable. They would be identified as ANQUCURC (Anglo Non-Questioning Unresponsive Children Of Repressive Conservatives) and would be targeted by the teachers and the school board.
As I said in my previous post, it's gotta be the nasty mildew and mold...
