I'm serious about the idea, even went back and looked for the weather data on those days. But my tone, and the way I wrote it, was, shall we say, playful ? That last post, especially, when it was late and I was feeling like a smart ass.
That comes from not being able to prove my theory to my own satisfaction, much less anyone else's. So I do honestly throw this idea out there, it's not "mine" in any sense, and I am always looking for the results of other investigations into this possible explanation for some of the reported strange lights in the sky. I lean towards an atmospheric cause rather than an extraterestrial one. But that's me.
I hope you still take me somewhat seriously. I consider myself not only a geologist but an earth scientist, and I have always been fascinated by meterology. I am a devote of the unexplained as I have a very curious mind that is always searching for answers to the mysterious world we inhabit.
But I can be a rather silly man.
