BTW, I would like to hear what she has to say, whatever it is. I do think atmospheric effects, such as the presence of inversions or lenticular clouds, may have something to do with all this. I'm not saying what they saw was a cloud, rather that lenticular clouds represent ripples in the atmosphere - the ripple troughs and crests are there under the right conditions even if there is not cloud formation within those waveforms. Different temps, mosture content, pressure...all might lead to very localized inversion type effects; but, as they would occur in the curved surfaces of the troughs and crests, that would create a curved mirror or mirage effect.

I admit, it's armwaving. But nothing I have said has been "made up". It's all genuine science-based arm-waving. I can provide figures if needed.
