Tom, Tom, Tom. The US has been "training" those people for 4 years.

4 years. Do you have any idea how long it takes to train an army? Think of the American Civil War - two weeks sometimes. How about WWII, Korea or Vietnam? How much training do you think the average schmuck got? (Hint: Less than 4 years.)

Do you think the average insurgent has 4 years of training, artillery, air power and the US Army backing 'em up? They still "won".

And, remember, the propaganda was that Iraq had a fiercesome army to begin with.

The reality is that there is no significant loyalty to anything but religion, sect and tribe. Certainly not to that outsider, al-Maliki, whom the US imported to be a figurehead. The Iraqis know that. And there is no loyalty to George Bush or the American government. They ain't going to fight and die for them, will fight and die against 'em.

Try again.
