You really don't want to see anything at all past 2006, do you? As long as your lambasting me about what I thought three or four years ago, you're on safe ground, and don't have to look at how badly your side has screwed up in recent months.
Just some of things Democrats are trying like hell to shove under the rug:
--If they had accomplished what they were trying their damnedest to do in 2007, we would have bailed out last year at the height of the violence and Iraq would have burned.
--They told Petraeus that the surge was not going to reduce violence before it started, and told him to his face last year that he was lying when he said it was reducing violence. The facts speak for themselves.
--They said Sunni-Shiite civil war and ever-rising violence between the two groups was inevitable and unstoppable. What happened there?
--We were informed that Anbar was irretrievably lost. What happened there?
Have we "won" in Iraq? No. Many things can go wrong. A lot of things will rebalance after the elections in Iraq this fall. But recently we have made more progress than we have in a long time, and it says a lot about the Democratic Party, the media, and anti-war groups that under those circumstances, their efforts to shut the entire thing down have redoubled.
Again, I have never seen the Left more furious than those times during the war when it looked like we were winning. Take that however you like.

And how's the accuracy on your side?

- You think we have to wait for an Iraqi Eisenhower now?

- I think the original point...
- For you, this is a "that was then, this is now" kind of thing, right?
- "Then" is pretty much all your side has got right now.

- That is just plain nonsense. The same nonsense, over and over for years.
