Tom's getting awfully smug about his self-serving recollection of what he said and when.
A while back I created an index to threads on CE around two critical times, post 9/11 and prior to Bush's invasion of Iraq. It's not as convenient as a search engine, but it's all there if you want to browse it. Here's one I hit at random: Tom's letter to the editor putting down critics of the "rush to war" published in the San Jose Mercury News. Not a prediction of the future, more the opposite--"are we going to wait forever to unleash the dogs of war??" Tom was chompin' at the bit for war in those days. He should look up the definition of "warmonger" and wear the label proudly.
For a good time with "flawed" predictions from an unabashed warmonger, let's take Techie's crystal ball out for a test drive:
The special forces have done their job, now it's time for the 82nd airborne and the marines to do their bit. Let's set up shop, make sure France Russia & Germany get one bucket full of grade A jack squat, clean up the mess and bring the rest of the troops home, before May 1st.
Let's go to war already by SDAI-Tech1
Has any RightWing warmonger who's ever dared us to compare predictions about the war won one? The posts under Tech's are a good representative sample, right down the line...and the critics got it right.
