Check your premises.

Find the objective reason for our presence in Iraq and you will have found the right one. All the rest is just window dressing.

I've linked the timetables before complete with oil purchase increases from Venezuala after 1991. Look at our purchases from Mexico, Canada and the rest. Look at the way Venezuela fights all OPEC increases in production since Chavez took over at the end of Clinton's term.

The squeeze on every US President, one of his unpublicized responsibilities, is to facilitate US consumption needs via friendly or unfriendly sources of oil.

Desert Storm wasn't about the nice Kuwaitis or Saudis. It was about their oil being in the hands of a sole distributor. Sure..freedom, rah, rah. I've written those type of speeches too.

Saddam cheered after 9/11. That was his fatal mistake. Like other leaders who hate America he should have said some lie about feeling sadness about the mass murder.

Iraq is now Saddam-free. It is WMD-free. Our presence is not there for the Shiites, Sunnis. It is to keep a sizable oil supply in the hands of a US friendly source. That is the objective value of our presence. Every action we have taken has pursued this goal.

Again...check your premises.
