Listen carefully, in the past 40 years (most of your lifetime), almost three/quarters of that time had REPUBLICANS in the White House. It started with Reagan, and Bush Sr. rolled over when the problems became evident. We were pushing for NAFTA and needed open borders to satisfy the deals between the corporations.
NOTHING was done to stem the tide. What Clinton ignored, GWB encouraged.
Please don't go blaming the liberals. It never made sense to me what GWB was doing and who was benefitting from it. Big industry maybe, but certainly not the people of the United States of America.
