All men are equal in their right to experience love, respect, trust. To friendship, to a relationship to a higher power. (That some people forfeit these rights doesn't mean they didn't have the right to them.)
We are not equal in the ego gratification things - money and the ability to make it, for instance. Big houses, cars, "stuff" in general. If one thinks we're all equal try climbing into a ring with Mike Tyson. I'll be all ears, and you won't be, to hear how it went.
One only has to assume that a Higher Power regards all things equally and then look for what is common to them. On what level are a bright, wealthy white guy in the US equal to a poor, crippled black man in Africa? In their right to enjoy relationships, friends, experience the joy of family. That sort of thing, which is really the important matters in life.
