Blame

Yet another response that had nothing to do with anything I said. Don't know where the heck you pulled "rape" from. The situation I'm talking about is the result of mutual consent between the private sector and government, with a lot of cash involved.

The mortgage meltdown originated in a lot of cooperative backscratching in board rooms and offices in Washington. Politicians pretending to be blindsided by this kind of thing are lying. Go back and look at who ran Fannie Mae before the current guy. Talk about your revolving doors.

Have you ever noticed that it's utterly impossible for some liberals to accept the idea that any of their cherished historical concepts have ever resulted in anything except unadulterated good, and if something went horribly wrong, it's always somebody else's fault? Children do things like this.

If you think there were no large economic forces or big rich companies around during the founding of our nation, I suggest you do a little history refresh. And some of them were as much entwined with their respective governments as the current mixed economy, probably more so.

Sorry, but the idea that ignorance of large economic entities was the only reason our founders didn't implement vast socialist restrictions on business is a fantasy.

"Big government" in this world has done more damage than "big capitalism," probably by orders of magnitude. It's depressing to have to keep pointing that out, but that's probably part of the phenomenon I mentioned above.
